Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing and using RuneStats ("the Service"), you accept and agree to be bound by the terms and provisions of this agreement. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

RuneStats is a free-to-use RuneScape 3 player statistics tracking platform. The Service provides:

  • Player statistics tracking and historical data
  • Clan leaderboards and management tools
  • Competition creation and participation
  • XP gain tracking and skill leaderboards

The Service pulls data from official Jagex APIs and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to Jagex Ltd.

3. User Accounts

Account creation is optional but required for certain features such as:

  • Creating and managing competitions
  • Saving favorite players
  • RSN verification and linking
  • Premium subscription features

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any portion of the Service or its systems
  • Use automated scripts, bots, or other tools to scrape or collect data from the Service in a manner that impacts service availability
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service or servers/networks connected to the Service
  • Impersonate any person or entity or falsely state or misrepresent your affiliation with a person or entity
  • Harass, abuse, or harm another person through use of the Service

5. Data and Privacy

RuneStats collects and displays publicly available RuneScape player data from official Jagex APIs. By using the Service:

  • You acknowledge that player statistics displayed are publicly available through Jagex's hiscores
  • Any player can be searched and tracked regardless of account ownership
  • Historical snapshots are retained according to your subscription tier (90 days for free users, unlimited for premium)

6. Premium Subscriptions

RuneStats offers premium subscription tiers that provide:

  • Automatic snapshots every 4 hours
  • Unlimited history retention
  • No rate limits on manual refreshes
  • Premium Discord role and community access

Subscriptions are billed monthly through Stripe. You may cancel at any time, and access will continue until the end of your billing period. Refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis.

7. Competitions

When creating or participating in competitions:

  • Competition creators are responsible for their competition's rules and prizes
  • RuneStats is not responsible for fulfillment of any prizes offered by competition creators
  • Free users may create 1 active competition at a time; premium users may create up to 10
  • Cheating or manipulation of competition results is prohibited and may result in account suspension

8. Intellectual Property

RuneScape and all related trademarks, logos, and assets are the property of Jagex Ltd. RuneStats is an independent fan project and is not affiliated with Jagex Ltd.

The RuneStats name, logo, and original content are owned by RuneStats. You may not use our branding without written permission.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not guarantee:

  • Continuous, uninterrupted access to the Service
  • Accuracy of data pulled from external APIs
  • That the Service will meet your specific requirements or expectations

10. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, RuneStats shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly, or any loss of data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses resulting from:

  • Your use or inability to use the Service
  • Any unauthorized access to or use of our servers and/or any personal information stored therein
  • Any interruption or cessation of transmission to or from the Service

11. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. We will notify users of any material changes by posting the new terms on this page with an updated date. Your continued use of the Service after such modifications constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms.

12. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without cause and with or without notice. Upon termination, your right to use the Service will immediately cease.
